   Merial introduced a new pasteurella pneumonia product to its line of Respishield brand vaccines – Respishield HM. MagiiX System
MagiiX Corp.
   MaGiiX Corp. started selling and installing its new cow temperature monitoring technology – the MagiiX System. It utilizes a rumen bolus – administered using a standard balling gun and requiring no batteries – that resides in the cow’s reticulum. Cow temperature, ambient temperature, ambient humidity and unique identification are recorded automatically each time the animal walks past a reader, generally as cows exit the milking parlor. The bolus transmits the animal’s temperature and a unique ISO-ID number while collecting metallic objects to prevent hardware disease. Monitoring a cow’s internal temperature can improve detection of estrus, ailments affecting milk quality or the onset of heat stress, and be used to track fresh cow temperatures or in routine herd checks.

   Merial announced enhancements to its packing for CORID 9.6% Solution, including a new plastic cap and tamper-proof seal.    Mycogen Seeds added eight TMF Silage-Specific Hybrids to its lineup of highly digestible hybrids. The new TMF hybrids feature high NDF digestibility ratings. Mycogen’s hybrids range from 88 days to 116 days in relative maturity. TMF2N242, an 88-day silage hybrid, features Roundup Ready technology, with good tonnage capability and high silage quality. TMF2M256 includes Herculex I Insect Protection for broad-spectrum protection. A tall plant, it provides strong roots and excellent tonnage. TMF2N422 is a Roundup Ready silage hybrid, featuring high tonnage and digestibility. TMF2T497, a 100-day leafy silage hybrid, offers very good early vigor, stalk strength, plant health and drought tolerance. TMF2M696 is a higher-yielding, later-maturing version of TMF 108 that features Herculex I Insect Protection. TMF2M741 replaces TMF114. A tall and leafy hybrid, it contains Herculex I Insect Protection. TMF2N802 is a full-season Roundup Ready hybrid that has good drought-stress tolerance and very good plant health throughout the chopping season. TMF2T818, a full-season hybrid, is similar in height to TMF113, with a lower ear placement. It has a more consistent ear size, which provides improved digestibility.

   BoviFoam, a new product from Activon Inc., utilizes hypochlorous acid and a foaming activator to create a foaming hoof application. This product’s technology allows producers to use extremely high levels of hypochlorous acid, without irritating the animal’s skin. BoviFoam delivers fresh foam to standard hoof baths every few minutes, allowing cows later in the milking line to receive the same strong treatment as earlier cows. BoviFoam clings to hooves, enabling the active ingredient to stay in contact with the bacteria.
