The 2019 New York Beef Producers Annual Meeting and Educational Conferences will be held January 18-19, 2019 in Syracuse, NY. The educational conference is sponsored by the National Corn Growers Association and will take place in the Double Tree Hotel.
The conference will kick off on Friday with a full schedule of workshops and industry trade show. The Michigan conference room will be dedicated to topics relating to dairy/beef crossbred calves designed to help dairy farmers looking to improve the value of their bull calves or retain and market some of their own beef cross calves. Guest speakers will include Dr. Mike Baker and Nicole Tommell of Cornell Cooperative Extension, Lauren Osborn, Wulf Cattle, and Jason Karszes and Dr Rob Lynch of ProDairy.
Additional topics covered on Friday will include facility and pasture planning, animal health and cattle protocols, and breeding. Sessions to help grow your business covering grants, marketing, and advocacy will also take place over the two day convention, and even a 101 on Cooking Demonstrations.
Saturday’s program will include an opportunity to attend sessions missed on Friday, as well as, presentations from top industry representatives and DVMs. Topics discussed will include calf health, nutrition, preconditioning and genetics. Saturday afternoon during lunch the NY Junior Beef Producers will be auctioning off the most popular beef bulls in the industry including most beef breeds- Angus, Red Angus, Hereford, Charolais, Shorthorn, Simmental, Limousin and Club Calf sires, will be represented. This is the Juniors largest fundraiser.
The 2019 New York Beef Producers Annual Meeting and Educational Conference will conclude with the Annual Awards Banquet and Scholarship Auction. All auction proceeds will benefit our Junior Scholarship Program.
