Curriculums includes financial matters essential to a farm’s success
Cape Fear Farm Credit is now accepting applications for the eleventh class to participate in e-learning financial and business planning courses. The Ag Biz Basic and Ag Biz Planner curriculums includes financial and business planning, budgeting and other money matters essential to a farm’s success. The Ag Biz Basic is a 4-module online course and the Ag Biz Planner is a 10-module online course.
Farm Credit’s e-learning program targets young, beginning, small, and minority farmers throughout the state. Participants are assigned a Cape Fear Farm Credit loan officer to serve as their mentor throughout the course. Highlights of the program include modules that cover business and personal financial planning, understanding income statements, cash flow, and the smart use of credit on the farm. Each Ag Biz Planner participant will have completed a business plan for their operation by the conclusion of the class.
“Without the AgBiz course and support from our Cape Fear mentor, we would have struggled to develop our business strategy for the coming years. After the Ag Biz Planner course, we’re confident in our plan, understand our expenses, and have a way forward that will aid in our generational transfer of the land.” –Chuck D., 2019 Ag Biz Planner Graduate
