Chicago Fed Ag Conference Examines How Technology Is Changing the Agriculture Industry

What: The Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago announces its annual Agricultural Conference, titled “Agricultural Technology’s Impacts on Farming and the Rural Midwest,” to be held at the Chicago Fed on November 27, 2018.

“During this challenging time for agriculture, new technologies provide a vital avenue for farm operations to improve their competitive advantages, especially in light of the strained environment for trade,” notes conference organizer and Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago senior business economist David Oppedahl.

Hear experts from academia, financial services, industry and policy institutions explore how technology is transforming agriculture and how it will be funded.

Sessions of the conference include:

  • The effects of technology on both the industry and rural communities.
  • Broadband and the rural economy.
  • How these technologies might be funded and implemented.
