Content Now Available for Week Five of The Dairy Signal™

PDPW

Professional Dairy Producers® – PDPW has released the speaker and content line up for week five of The Dairy Signal™.  Developed by fellow dairy farmers from the PDPW Board of Directors, The Dairy Signal is a weekly series of free educational episodes offering insights and resources for fellow dairy farmers and other food system professionals throughout the value chain.

Each day during The Dairy Signal, respective speakers break down the day’s dairy business and market dynamics and offer tools to get farmers through the day and weeks ahead until the world stabilizes. The episodes air live from 12:00-1:00 PM CT each Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday; recorded sessions are available later in the day. The Spanish translation, La Señal Lechera™, is also available via recording.

Wisconsin Governor Tony Evers, guest speaker on last week’s episode of The Dairy Signal on April 28th, explained that Wisconsin is receiving about $2 billion in federal funds from the recently passed CARES Act and that his staff is currently working on how to distribute those dollars appropriately.

Gov. Evers said, “The agricultural industry in Wisconsin was the first essential business identified by us – not only is it part of our heritage but also part of our future. The last thing we want is people suffering and not having the food and nutrition the hard-working farmers in Wisconsin provide. We will continue to make sure we are advocating for farmers at the federal and state level.”

“Cows still get milked every day, and the land is still getting planted. Dairy farmers are people that believe in the future. Their passion is still rooted in feeding America,” said Shelly Mayer, Executive Director of PDPW and dairy producer from Slinger, Wis. “We need to lean into one another, helping each other be strong, navigating forward, because forward is the best and only direction we know.”

Our dairy industry and lives are changing daily and our need for accurate business information is vital. Content on The Dairy Signal will be updated as new information becomes available.
