Crave Brothers Farmstead Cheese Wins Best of Show at the Dodge County Fair

Crave Brothers Farmstead Cheese took home First Place/Blue Ribbon honors in the 2018 Dodge County Fair Cheese Judging for its Mascarpone Cheese and its Marinated Fresh Mozzarella Balls. In addition, the Marinated Fresh Mozzarella received the overall Merit Award. It also placed First at the 2018 World Cheese Championships and Second at the 2018 American Cheese Society. Crave Brothers Farmers Rope String Cheese won the Second Place/Red Ribbon award in the Italian Cheese—Pasta Filata category at Dodge County Fair in Beaver Dam, WI.

The winning Marinated Ciliegine (cherry size) Fresh Mozzarella is a Crave Brothers specialty, marinated in a signature blend of olive oil and canola oil, with a custom spice mix. The cheese is an ideal choice for pasta salads, or as an appetizer served with olives and sliced tomatoes. Fresh Mozzarella is also available in Perline (pearl size), Bocconcini (ball size), Ovoline (egg size), Medallions, 8 oz. balls, 1-pound balls, and 1-pound logs. All told, Crave Brothers Fresh Mozzarella varieties have earned more 36 awards for excellence.

In addition to receiving honors for Fresh Mozzarella, Crave Brothers Mascarpone won first place in the Mascarpone class.  This luxurious cheese, made from fresh, sweet cream, has been honored with more than 30 awards since it was introduced. The rich flavor and velvety texture make it an ideal ingredient to stir into soups, pair with berries or honey, add to pasta dishes or create memorable desserts such as Fresh Peach and Mascarpone Parfaits and Chocolate Mascarpone Pie.

Also at the Dodge County Fair, Crave Brothers Farmer’s Rope String Cheese received a second-place prize in the Italian Cheese, Pasta Filata category. This handmade deli string cheese is characterized by its fresh flavor, and is an ideal choice for melting, shredding and snacking. Serve it with fresh fruits and vegetables, or pair it with Pilsner or sparkling apple cider for autumn get-togethers.
