Dairy Day at Miner Institute Dec. 7

Miner Institute’s annual Dairy Day meeting will be held Thursday, Dec. 7 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Joseph C. Burke Education and Research Center, 586 Ridge Road, Chazy. This meeting is free and open to the public.

This year’s speakers include Dr. Mike Van Amburgh of Cornell University; and Dr. Rick Grant and Dr. Heather Dann of Miner Institute. Dr. Van Amburgh will give two talks titled Overcoming Variability in Forage Digestibility and Yield, and Improving Nitrogen Utilization in Lactating Dairy Cattle. Dr. Grant will give a talk titled Feed Bunk Management to Make Milk from Forage. Dr. Dann will give a talk titled New Milk Analyses to Help Tweak Diets and Management. Wyatt Smith, Mike Miller, and Kate Creutzinger from Miner Institute will collaborate on a talk about current dairy research.

Vendors will be available throughout the day. Door prizes are available and hot lunch is offered for $5 per person.
