The New York Animal Agriculture Coalition (NYAAC) is excited to host Dairy Dialogue events throughout the state allowing community members to connect and converse with local dairy farmers. There are currently more than 12 events scheduled in a variety of locations across New York State with the anticipation of people joining the one-hour informational sessions about the New York’s dairy industry as farmers share a direct and personal message about their own farm.
“It’s exciting to have the opportunity to bring farmers together with community members that are interested in learning more about the agriculture industry and specifically where their dairy products are produced,” said Eileen Jensen, NYAAC Director of Promotion and Outreach. “Dairy Dialogues are meant to garner conversations resulting in a better understanding of what happens back on the farm, the current state of the dairy industry and a deeper appreciation for dairy products.”
The Cornell Cooperative Extension North Country Regional Ag Team is co-sponsoring a local event on Thursday, December 5, 2019 at 6:30 p.m. at the SUNY Plattsburgh campus located in the Cardinal Lounge at 38 Rugar Street, Plattsburgh, NY 12901. We hope community members will join us for an evening that will include a dairy documentary viewing, some dairy products and dialogue about animal agriculture.
The Dairy Dialogues program is made possible by New York dairy farmers and their dairy check-off funds. NYAAC is a farmer founded and funded 501-c-3 organization that strives to enhance the public’s understanding of and appreciation for animal agriculture by engaging the public in conversations about animal agriculture and empowering farmers to tell their story firsthand. New York is proud to be the third leading producer of milk in the nation with over 4,500 family farms and over 625,000 cows. For more information about NYAAC, please visit www.nyanimalag.org.
