Farm Credit East Celebrates Northeast Agriculture During National Farmers’ Market Week
ENFIELD, CONN., FRIDAY, AUGUST 4, 2017 — Farm Credit East celebrates the bounty of farm fresh produce available in the Northeast during National Farmers’ Market Week, which will take place August 6 through 12. Farm Credit East encourages consumers to show their support of the agriculture community by continuing to purchase from local farmers’ markets and roadside stands.
This is the time of year when local fruits, vegetables and other farm products are in abundance in the Northeast, and farmers’ markets are an important channel for producers to provide fresh, affordable farm products to consumers. Additionally, the more than 1,500 farmers’ markets throughout the region provide farmers the opportunity to interact one-on-one with their customer to develop strong farmer-consumer relationships.
