Krahn Recognized for Service to Oregon Dairy Farmers

Allan Hanselman, Vice President of Oregon Dairy Farmers Association, shown right center, presented Jim Krahn with the Community Service Award for his long term contributions to the Oregon Dairy Industry. Jim served as the ODFA Executive Director for 23 years. During his tenure, Jim was involved with a variety of issues and was extremely influential in developing the Oregon CAFO program. This was achieved by bringing producers, regulators and environmental groups together.

Jim worked with OSU students, built winning judging teams and helped students network with allied industry. Jim collaborated with OSU to recruit students and increase opportunities for all students interested in the dairy industry.

In 2014, the Oregon Department of Agriculture honored Jim with their Individual Contribution to Agriculture Award.  Pictured also are Krahn’s granddaughters, Clancey and Gracie.
