New York State Officers were honored to help recognize the importance of agriculture

On Wednesday September 26, 2018, three New York FFA State Officers, Olivia Parkin, State Sentinel, Patrick Coombe, State Treasurer, and KristiAnn Frank, State President, were present at the New York Stock Exchange as the closing bell was rang by the United States Secretary of Agriculture Sonny Perdue.

The New York State Officers were honored to help recognize the importance of our agricultural commodities to our nation’s economy. Having a strong agricultural industry allows everyone across our nation to reap the benefits. FFA is proud to advocate and expose youth to the many career opportunities that exist in the agricultural industry.

Supporting the development of the next generation of agriculturists will allow for a strong agricultural industry for years to come. Secretary Perdue is a staunch supporter of the FFA and recognizes the importance of having our youth involved in agriculture. KristiAnn Frank, the NYS FFA President stood next to the United States Secretary of Agriculture as he rang the bell.

“I was so excited to have the opportunity to stand alongside the Secretary of Agriculture Sonny Perdue as he demonstrated the importance of agriculture to not only our national economy but the global economy. This was a once in a lifetime experience and it was a privilege to be able to participate in this event.” states KristiAnn. To view the live ringing of the bell go to:
