Workshop for livestock farmers will help address the basics of making hay

Stored forages is the mainstay of livestock feed. Cornell Cooperative Extension NWNY Dairy, Livestock & Field Crops Team is holding a workshop for livestock farmers to help address the basics of making hay Saturday, February 29 from 9:30 am – 12 pm.

The workshop will be at the CCE Niagara 4-H Training Center, 4487 Lake Avenue, Lockport. Leading the discussion will be Jodi Putman, Field Crops Specialist and Nancy Glazier, Small Farms & Livestock Specialist with the NWNY Team. Topics will be soil fertility and testing, seeding, weed management, harvest and storage, and more.

 

 

Cost of the workshop is $10 per person, $15 per farm or family payable at the workshop. Morning refreshments will be provided. Pre-registration is required by February 26. Contact Nancy Glazier at 585.315.7746 or [email protected]. Please relay any special needs when registering.
