The Animal Genomics Improvement Laboratory (AGIL), located in Beltsville, MD as part of USDA’s Agricultural Research Service, has two open positions to fill.
The first is a full-time, permanent position for an animal scientist who will work with Dr. Paul VanRaden on cutting-edge genomic evaluation projects: https://www.usajobs.gov/GetJob/ViewDetails/514277600. The successful applicant will join the Animal Improvement Program of AGIL (AIP; https://aipl.arsusda.gov/), whose research focuses on the discovery and development of improved methods for the genetic and genomic evaluation of economically important traits of dairy animals. The AIP works closely with the Council on Dairy Cattle Breeding and other industry groups to develop improved evaluation methodology, research new traits, and update national selection indices.
