Destination #1 - Research Centres and Grand Marché de Québec

Research Centres:

Le grand Marché de Québec -

Starts with the visit of the STELA and INAF facilities and research laboratories. Then at the Grand Marché de Québec, introduction to the Food incubator Mycelium and its Innovation centre; Encounter with local producers and artisans to discover a variety of local foods.
Lunch and product tasting included.
Departure: 9:00 am Return: 3:30 pm

Destination #2 - Agropur Cooperative

Agropur Cooperative Head Office, St-Hubert, Quebec
Founded in 1938, with sales of $6.7 billion in 2018, the Cooperative is a source of pride to the 3,161 members and 8,800 employees. Agropur processes more than 6.2 billion litres of milk per year at its 39 plants across North America and boasts an impressive roster of respected brands and products.

Includes bus trip, visit of Agropur headquarters (meeting with executive management, visit of R&D centre and state of the art distribution centre), product tasting and lunch.

  • Montmorency Falls
    Parc de la Chute-Montmorency is a spectacular historic site. From the cable car, the 83-metre-high waterfall dominates the landscape. Just as beautiful, on the other side, is the view of the St. Lawrence River, Île d'Orléans, and Québec City.
  • Maison d'affinage Maurice Dufour
    As one of the pioneers in the field of artisan cheesemaking in Quebec, Maurice Dufour creates quality artisanal cheeses and dazzles with its exceptional know-how and ingenuity. Unique creations by equally unique cheesemakers who even make gin from their whey.
  • Charlevoix Dairy
    Originally dedicated to dairy distribution, the fourth generation family-owned company adapted through time. It now produces Cheddar and fine cheeses, invested in methanization to reduce its environmental footprint and participates in the rescue of the Canadienne cow breed.

Includes bus trip, cable car visit of the falls, lunch, visit of the two cheese dairies and product tasting.

The International Dairy Federation (FIL) Cheese Science and Technology Symposium, is presented every four years in different countries around the world. In June 2020, we expect 400 researchers, cheese experts and industrial representatives from over 30 countries at the event that is back in Canada after 20 years.
