Our rural communities need future leaders
April 4-5, 2020 Dodgeland High School, Juneau, Wis.
We need to invest in the future now. Our food systems need the best and the brightest to fulfill the numerous positions within our communities as leaders and experts that are all a part of bringing the best quality food from America’s farms to America’s dinner table. If we are going to attract these young people – and grow them into leaders - the responsibility starts with us.
Designed to develop leadership skills in teens 15 to 18 years old, STRIDE's two-day conference is overflowing with team exercises and group challenges that equip attendees with techniques to improve communication, expand their role as a leader and learn distinctive ways to negotiate through difficult situations.
With out-of-classroom learning in mind, students will participate in hands-on workshops during their tour at ST Genetics in Fond du Lac, Wis. Attendees will also be exposed to a variety of career options via round-table discussions with industry professionals.
With over 25 years of experience presenting professional-development programs, Ed Tilley of Adventure Associates will lead the students through practical exercises that are as unforgettable as they are fun. Engaging in team challenges and networking with peers, students will learn clever ways to collaborate with others and negotiate through difficult situations.
